Dr. Fabiano Chaves, Nokia

Dr. Fabiano Chaves is Head of Spectrum Standardization North America at Nokia, responsible for defining and executing Nokia’s spectrum strategy. He serves as Spectrum Working Group Vice Chair in Next G Alliance.

Fabiano’s activities have spanned from research on wireless systems and networks, including 4G, 5G and Wi-Fi, to spectrum research, strategy, regulation and standardization. He has been continuously contributing to ITU and other bodies on overall radio system aspects of IMT (4G, 5G, and 6G), radio propagation and sharing and compatibility between IMT and other systems. Fabiano is author of 40+ journal and conference papers and 15+ patents. He holds a Ph.D. in Telecommunications from the Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan (ENS-Cachan, France) and the University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil), and a Master Degree in Teleinformatics Engineering from the Federal University of Ceara (UFC, Brazil).
